" RANI LAKSHMIBAI "
Rani Lakshmibai, also known as the Rani of Jhansi, was a prominent leader and warrior queen in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. She was born on November 19, 1828, in Varanasi, India, and was named Manikarnika. She was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi, Raja Gangadhar Rao, at the age of 14.
After her husband's death in 1853, the British government refused to recognize her adopted son as the rightful heir to the throne of Jhansi. Rani Lakshmibai fiercely resisted British attempts to annex Jhansi and joined the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
She fought several battles against the British, including the Siege of Jhansi, where she led her troops in defending her kingdom against the British forces.
However, despite her bravery, Jhansi fell to the British in 1858, and Rani Lakshmibai died in battle. Her courage and determination have made her a symbol of Indian nationalism and a revered figure in Indian history. She is remembered for her sacrifice and courage, and her legacy continues to inspire people in India and around the world.
